Effect of Natural Dye Extracting Solvents on the Performance of Dye-Sensitised Solar Cells

Abstract Dye-sensitised solar cells (DSSCs) have attracted immense attention in photovoltaics research and development due to the low cost of fabrication, sustainability use abundant natural resources. Natural dyes were adapted DSSCs as a sensitiser but unfortunately proved poor efficiency. Herein, we manufactured two organic from yellow red gambier fruits treated both with methanol isopropyl alcohol. The photoanode photocathode prepared TiO 2 , indium thin dioxide (ITO); carbon dioxide, respectively. An electrolyte was made by mixing potassium iodide iodine. doctor blade method used add semiconductor surface conducting ITO. UV–Vis FTIR spectroscopic measurements been performed determine absorbance functional groups extracts. From analysis spectra, photovoltaic under irradiation, found that extracts are dominated tannin flavonoids using alcohol solvent higher efficiency than methanol, This indicates solvents might influence performance DSSCs.
